The friendly Troll

Troll. Watercolours, markers and coloured pencils on watercolour paper. November 2014

Didn’t I say in one of my earlier posts that I am going to practice figure drawing? Well, I don’t know whether drawing this little guy here could be considered as figure drawing, but a drawing exercise it was. I also practiced using mixed media in this piece: after having inked the sketch I coloured it with watercolour paints. When these were dry I went over the painting with my markers in order to ad d somecontrast to the painting. The finishing touches were done with my Polychromos coloured pencils.

The more I practise with my watercolour paints the more I like them. I use them on dry paper, and with not so much water. Doing it this way you can get rich colours.

About Ulla Hennig

I live and work in Berlin. Taking photos is one of my hobbies, and writing is one of my hobbies, too. So I decided not only to show some of my pictures here but also present some of the thought which came wth the pictures.
