Flying Bird – watercolour pencils

Flying Bird. Watercolour pencils on sketching paper. February 2014

This is another version of the flying bird, this time painted with watercolour pencils. More and more I am enjoying the number of media I’ve got – soft pastels, oil pastels, markers, acrylic paints, coloured pencils and, yes, watercolour pencils.

These watercolour pencils were the first medium I bought. When I used them in the time after I used them dry. But now – some years later – I enjoy using them wet. I’ve got a wee tiny little brush, and I try to use as little water as possible.

The paper I used for the painting is sketching paper. The surface is not too smooth, and it is eating up my pencils. But is has been lying around for two years or so, so I thought I’d try it.

About Ulla Hennig

I live and work in Berlin. Taking photos is one of my hobbies, and writing is one of my hobbies, too. So I decided not only to show some of my pictures here but also present some of the thought which came wth the pictures.
