Hope – Work in progress
It has been almost two years that I bought my first set of acrylics, had a go with them, decided that I didn’t like them and gave them away to my lovely neighbour who was only too happy to paint with them.
I don’t know what happened, but suddenly I wanted to have a second go and bought a small set. I’ve still got a pad with acrylic paper, with a small piece of paper left over. So I sat down and did a rough thumbnail with a ballpoint pen. I wanted to tell a story with my painting, resp. I wanted to make the beholder think of a story, inspired by the song “islands in the sun” by Belafonte.
There’s still a lot to be done – the hills in the background need some contrast, and I also want to add some white to the waves in the foreground. But the first step has been made.
