Colourful spheres

Colourful shapes. Neocolor II watersoluble wax crayons on Acrylic paper. Ulla Hennig October 2013

I am still deeply in love with those Neocolor II watersoluble wax crayons made by Caran d’Ache. I’ve still been using acrylic paper as support. I applied the wax crayons in two different ways:

  • I used them dry and went over them with a wet brush
  • I wetted a piece of the paper and applied the crayons.

I don’t know whether the acrylic paper is an appropriate support for the neocolors. I plan to try watercolour paper next. I’ll keep you posted about the results…

By the way: In the beginning of my “art career” I had a very strange feeling when I switched from one medium to another, be it from traditional art to digital art, or from oil pastel to coloured pencils. I was afraid to lose the direction, afraid to never come back.

My experience is telling me something totally different. Now I know that I can switch between mediums and switch between traditional and digital art. I will always come back to the one or the other. Digital painting, vector art, drawing with coloured pencils, using wax crayons and oil pastels – everything is possible and a step to a new level!

About Ulla Hennig

I live and work in Berlin. Taking photos is one of my hobbies, and writing is one of my hobbies, too. So I decided not only to show some of my pictures here but also present some of the thought which came wth the pictures.
