Horse in watercolor pencils

Horse painted with watercolor pencils

Horse in watercolor pencils painted by Ulla Hennig

This is my first painting done with watercolor pencils. The anatomy of the horse has its flaws, and you can also see that I have my problems with the technique of working with pencils and brush.

Painting with those pencils definitely meant leaving my comfort zone. But it also meant making new experiences, learning and – after all – having fun!

About Ulla Hennig

I live and work in Berlin. Taking photos is one of my hobbies, and writing is one of my hobbies, too. So I decided not only to show some of my pictures here but also present some of the thought which came wth the pictures.

I think it’s great! And I;m not sure where the anatomical errors are – in any case, the overall composition, the colour combinations and the textures you’ve achieved are what stand out for me. It works very well!

    Hi Ulla.
I love this! I don’t see the flaws. I like it just the way it is. Would have this framed and hang it on my wall. And this is your first one? I’d have never known that.
