A Tribute to one of my Flickr Friends

I just discovered that photo over at Flickr. It is one of Joanna Young’s latest photos, and it’s called “A Step into the Garden”.

I think it is a wonderful photo, and it makes me want to step directly into it, walk down those wooden steps and go out onto the green. I could imagine doing that on a late summer’s day, maybe with a cold drink in my hand, taking in the peace of the place. The photo reminds me of those Japanese gardens, with stones, and wood, and grass and nothing else.

I imagine touching the wood with my naked feet, letting my feet go over the soft grass. What a pleasure! Thank you so much, Joanna, for sharing it!

Ulla, what a wonderful surprise this morning! Thank you for this tribute – now you have *me* blushing madly! 🙂

I had just that feeling in the garden too – as soon as I turned that corner and saw those stepping stones I felt a great sense of peace, welcome and well-being.

I’m glad you felt it too

    Hello, Ulla,

you chose an impressive photo there. A garden tells a lot about its owner; wild or tidy, spaceous or small … I am afraid that if people judge our garden they might think we don´t care much. Although our cinviction is that planting and then letting the plants grow into their form displays nature at its best.

Wonderful work of a landscape gardener/architect here.

And I can almost see you stepping into the garden yourself at the break of this new day. How glorious it is to be alive – to feel the cold embrace of those stone steps, into the crunchy grass. A moment’s slice of heaven in the stillness of your garden.

What a blessed day. What a gift to be alive.

    Happy birthday, Ulla.
