This was my first contribution to the Sunsets Classroom over at the Watercolours Forum at WetCanvas. No specific photo as a reference – I looked at the photos given there and made up kind of a mixture.
It was the first time that I mixed up colours – blue and red to get a more purplish colour, and yellow and red to get an orange. I’ve got my watercolour paints in 1/2 pans, and I didn’t know in the beginning that you have to wet your pans by dropping water on them (or spritzing them). Second thing I learnt in the process: Do not use black in order to get dark shades! Well, I am learning as I go…
