Actually, the part of the wooden containment you see in this picture here belongs to a boule place, where people can play boule. Boule is a game where you have one very little bowl which you have to try as approach much as you can with your own, larger bowl. In order to keep the bowls going off you have this wooden containment.
Of course now, in the season of autumn, the containment keeps the fallen leaves from being spread all over by the wind.

Thank you. Autumn is one of my favorite seasons, and fallen leaves never fail to invoke a deep emotional reaction.
Thank you so much for leaving that comment on my post.
Ulla, the wooden containment is almost like a dividing line reminding us to enjoy this season of cinnamon smells, hot chocolate and fallen leaves for soon the winter will come and we will wrap up in our coats as we hurry in and out of the warmth of indoors. I have never heard of Boule, it sounds interesting!
I have never heard of that game either! Thanks for sharing something new with us!. My son raked up all of the leaves in our yard yesterday. THey look like a small mountain! THen they all jumped in them all afternoon. Such silly fun autumn days…to be kids again..sigh..
Karen and Wendi,
I think they call it “bowls” in England, and “Bocchia” in Italy. Boule is just the French version…
Hi Ulla – I love the leaves in the fall. My favorite thing to do is walk in them and hear them “crunch”.
